I have similar electrical problems, specifically the brake light not working at all. I think they used some substandard wiring, and it breaks easily. Might see about replacing much of the wiring, if you do yourself shouldn´t be too expensive, otherwise might be a few hundred. It´s a pretty simple bike though, repairs shouldn´t be horribly expensive.
