I have a 2007 K1200R on which the ESA options do not work correctly. When I first bought the bike the functions looked like they worked but the spring adjustment never actually changed when switching from single rider through the options. The compression and rebound did seem to make a noise at the adjusters but didn´t seem to make much difference. Anyway I stripped out the rear suspension unit to check all cable (OK), and then applied 12 Volts directly to the motor that drives the preload. The adjustment worked as it should. I then got someone to calibrate the ESA with a Hex GS911. The result was all the on screen functions disappeared. I the went to BMW who plugged the bike into their diagnostics. It said there was a wiring issue. At this stage I told the dealer I would check it all out. The trouble is I can´t get a wiring diagram. Can anyone else suggest a way forwards other than getting the dealer to rack me up a huge bill? I have bought a spare Rear ESA unit and am considering buying a second hand ZFE controller if the wiring draws a blank.
