Oh Boy, you have asked for a million answers! Every butt is different. Every rider sits a bit differently and has different leg length, which affects the comfort of the sides and front of the seat. First, try to live with it and see if you get used to it. I have been surprised at the long range comfort of a harder seat. My Rich´s seat was fairly firm and Corbin is known for their firmness. Both have many returning buyers. My newest one has a Sargent seat and they are also pretty firm, but supportive. If you are a DIY kind of guy, you can often un-staple the seat cover and with a garage sale electric knife, cut down the edges or nose just a little to achieve a more ´perfect union´. Often that reduction of the nose makes it easier to get your feet flat on the ground at stops too! The custom makers like Rich´s or others will often take pictures of you (and your pillion) sitting on the bike to get that leg angle and butt width thing right!
