I picked up a new 2007 Tuono about three weeks ago. My other bike is a 2003 RC51 with Akrapovic carbon fiber cans, PC3, Ohlins, etc. I had just returned from an 8 day 3000 mile ride from Canada to San Francisco on the RC. It was great on the coast highway but it will never be mistaken for a Gold Wing. I had been lusting after the Tuono at a local dealership. As it´s the end of the local riding season the bike was priced much better than when I first saw it in the spring.
The Tuono goes in for it´s first service this week. I´ve already put on a set of the Aprilia/Akrapovic factory option slip-ons. I wanted those cans because they come with the street insert to be a bit quieter. I ran the bike without the inserts and found it a bit loud for my tastes. I certainly enjoy a sporting V-twin sound but don´t buy into the \
