V-Strom 650 vs. single cylinder 650

i´m really interested in trading my 1999 bmw f650 for a v-strom 650. the f650 is great so far, but i am really curious about the difference between its single cylinder feel and the v-strom´s twin. any comments? the v-strom seems like a great bike. also, i´m 5´6\
