Comein from the left side of bike (port side)......you can use a butcher´s tool, or look at auto shops for various devices. I have found one that works, but I need to put tape on the filter so that I don;t scratch it when taking it off. I run filters for 2 to 3 oil changes and like to drain it, then give it a drink of fresh oil. The manual says to change it at 18,000 kilometres, so 10,000/15,000 or so kms is Ok in my opinion.
