First time visitor to forum. Considering purchasing 2007 VS1300 Touring. Interested in hearing what owners have to say about the bike. If I buy it, it will be my first bike ever. I´m new to biking and curious to hear any thoughts on 1300 as a learner -- who knows, maybe even as ultimate bike of choice. I am 54 years old, in good enough physical condition for my age, 6-ft, 185 lbs. I don´t expect to put many miles each year but, I´ll ride enough to stay happy. Live in Ohio and will probably not ride much through winter months. The bike I´m looking at a 2007 has 40K-plus hwy miles and the one-owner has taken very good care of it with regular maintenance and oil changes. Owner claims the YES (Yamaha Extended Service) warranty is still good (transferable ??) through November 2011. Asking price is $5800. So, is this the right bike for me? Should I shy away from the high miles? What sort of maintenance issues am I headed for? Etc. etc, etc??? Thanks.
