I did a little riding as a teen back in the 60s. I had a 900cc sportster for a few months but then family came along. Just before my 60th birthday I saw a bike with 50´s styling and three chrome strips on the side of the tank. Us old farts like to be taken back and this darn sure did it for me. I checked it out & found out it was a Yamaha. I did´nt care if it was a 750 or 900 or 1100, the engine size did´nt matter. It was just what I wanted in looks. I was blown away when I was told it was 1850cc. sold !!! I got the roadliner S. I added the windshield and front fender trim and tripple headlights at time of purchase. It was love at first ride. This bike is amazing. The drivetrain has been perfect for 12000 miles and the handling makes me look like I had not been off a bike for those 40 years. Only downside was a case of monkey butt on a 400 mile ride one day. I cured that at end of first year with the addition of Mustang seats,{ heavily studded of coarse }. The mustang seats are much more comfortable. Of coarse I had to have soft leather saddle bags ( heavily studded and fringed of coarse } to go with the seats and also added passenger floorboards for the wife since she loves to ride as much or more than I do. I cannot say enough good about this bike. When I ride to work the guys ask me if I had a good ride and I tell them there are no bad rides in that bike. The biggest compliment I can pay this bike is that in over three years I have had zero desire to even think about another bike. For me that´s saying something. I´m usually always looking for the next bigger or better toy. I would tell anyone that this is the best motorcycle ever built. Good luck and happy riding.
