Should I make the switch? |

Found this forum on my search for information on the V-Rod Motorcycles. I curently own a 2005 Dyna Low Rider, that I enjoy very much. However, ever since I have owned this bike, I keep on encountering little issues, that always turn out to rather large issues. At less than 5K miles, I discovered a leak, out of shifter linkage, after installing forward controls. That meant the dealer had to open up the primary and repair the seal. Almost $1,000 in repairs and labor. Second and the most serious is the fact that my mileage was extremely poor, pulled the plugs and they were nearly fouled. Investigated with the dealer and found out that I had a valve seal leak and oil bypass. What the heck? This is supposed to be a bike with less than 6K miles? Extremely disspointed, becuse the bike is a blast to ride. Enough out of this! I am looking for input from the forum on the V-Rod. I have always had an interest in the bike and its radically different looks, compared to most of the Road Kings and Electra Glides that make the majority of Harley owners. Nothing wrong with those bikes, they are just not my style. Have discussed it with my dealer, and will be testing one this coming week. Could anyone offer some observation on bike ownership, its already very popular powerful engine, its 240 mm rear tire, handling and road worthiness. I´d appreciate it very much. Regards, German |
