Hey Thumper Heads. I just piced up a 1983 XR500. And Changed the oil. My fist mistake was ,I pulled the wrong bolt out. Never having a old XR before, and no manual. I pulled out the boltthat is behined the gear shift leaver. It now has a loud pinging on the right side of the motor,or trans. I have a book on a 83-85 XR350 and it said, dont touch that bolt! That all the gears are conected to it,and would dis conect them. So it will not shift. But mine runs great, through all gears, But has the pinging ? I´ve sent for the book,just hopping to find out sooner what i´ve done. HELP Thanks
