hey guyz,Im a proud owner of a 2001 suzuki fxr 150. I got it second han in BAD condition but got all the parts repaired and it has been runing fine since i got it in 2005.
I´ve had a few problems like the valves chiped,magneto faulty,CDI faulty.[mainly the wiring has been giving me problems but i sent it to a good bike electrition and he got everything rewired and fused.
I´ve also made a few modifications on my bike, i´ve got the block bored[usin a 50´piston],28´ race carb from uma racing,race clutch springs from a yamaha,lighter clutch case,polished valves,intake and exhaust ports,a race exhaust[2nd hand from a 125cc 4stroke suzuki shogun used in the local races],etc. As u may read the mods are extensive as i belive this bike has alot of potential.
I´ve gotten ALOT more torque from the bike and a little top speed. I use my bike every day from college and to work later and sometimes i do go for some trips to the countrysides.SO it´s really reliable unlike many 2strok bikes.I once made a race block ,cams,52 ´piston ,35 uma racing carb and all inards lightened or replaced for sprint racing.I got a top speed of 190++ on straight road[have to play around withs the sprocket sizes] but the way it gets there is SCARY.I tested agasit a few 150 2strokes[standard] not 1 came close in Drag[1km] and still could do more but the rev limiter block it from going more[standard cuts at 14000++RPM but mine moded abit for 16000RPM.{couldnt source a good replacement for the CDI].This gives me only less than 100km per 4.5l of petrol.
