I bought mine as a 1995 model in 2005 with only 11,000 miles and it had been sitting around for a long time as well. Felt sluggish in the beginning, but frequent use and some spirited and long distance driving made it free up again and now it´s a joy to ride and it performs very well - even with a passenger, Seems, you have done the obvious things already to make it go better, so what else is there to do? Assuming it runs on two cyclinders, then it should go up to 100 mph without much ado. I have 24,000 miles on it now and it just wants to go....
