Regulator/Rectifier Upgrade

I recently purchased a Rick´s Rectifier/Regulator upgrade kit. I believe I correctly installed the new rectifier to the old stator as I can get the engine to turn over and the horn to beep. Where I´m confused is with the old regulator and the new regulator. The new regulator ties in directly to the battery. The old regulator appears to be tied in with all the lighting. As a result I have no headlamp, blinkers, brake lights etc. How do I re-route the lights when the only connection from the new regulator ties in directly with the battery???
