Bike doesn´t hold oil (and it is not burning oil)

Bike doesn´t hold oil (and it is not burning oil)

We recently changed oil in the nighthawk (added 3.5 quarts) and after starting, the oil light came on. When we checked the oil, no oil registered on the stick. After adding another quart today (approx a week later) and then running it for 2-3 min, it again did not register.
There are no signs of the nighthawk burning oil or oil leaking.
