Clutch assembly spring

I managed to lose the little spring inside the lever assembly. looks like what it does is holds the two contacts together when clutch is released. Bike shop in my area says that it does not have a spring in there but I am not certain they understand what I am talking about. it is located just under the oil ( window ) behind the black plastic cover. anybody know what I am talking about and what it would be called exactly? also where can I get a replacement?

thanks
