I just found this discussion group, so I hope somone out there can help. I bought an ´83 nighthawk 650 last fall. After some repairing, cleaning, and tinkering, I have the bike running and battery charging (a common problem, I´ve found), but I have a top-end noise - like a rhythmic clicking. Suggestions from others include timing chain, lifters, valves. The bike runs and idles great, and I´m getting around 55 miles per gallon, so I don´t want to mess with anything if it´s not necessary. But I also don´t want to be doing slow but long-term damage. The bike just turned 24,000 miles.

Any ideas?
