Frank. I don´t believe it, someone else is using this link too. Give me a second to compose myself due to the fact that I´m actually communicating with another Triumph owner, especially a Scrambler owner. OK, no, I haven´t done any work on the bike yet other than remove the air injection. I was pretty impressed with the parts from Thunderbike. We could buy cams (they make billet cams so you don´t have to give them your cams to regrind), exhaust (performance mufflers or a whole complete header system) and a freer flowing air box which when all combined, they say gives the Scrambler 35% more HP and torque. That ends up adding about 16 HP for a total of about 62 rear wheel HP. That should be a pretty noticable improvement. I think we would end up spending about $2800.00 to do this. South Bay Triumph in California can sell us about the same thing except they take our cams and regrind them. They offer us two grinds, they claim they are both streetable but of course there´s always a compromise so one grind would be more street friendly and a little less HP than the hotter one. They also offer the free flowing air box and their own style of free flowing exhaust muffler. South Bay also offers a 998cc kit with 11-1 compression. This kit requires we bore out our cases to accept the larger cylinder diameter. That´s a lot of work for an extra 135cc´s. I have also been investigating turbocharging the bike which I think would be a better way to go. However nobody makes a bolt on kit for this bike. I found a web site called Boost is good who turbocharges Triumph´s and Harley´s. They show a Bonniville with a turbo on it and it produced 108 HP. Now that´s what I´m talking about. I would really like to get at least an honest 80 brake HP but it all cost so I haven´t done anything yet. Shoot me an e-mail and maybe we can investigate together. If you know anything you can tell me, please do so. If you have any connections or experience doing any of this let me know also. johninta@juno.com Great talking to another Scrambler owner.
