I find poor starting is usually easily solved with a rag and some WD40. Unscrew and remove the cover near your right foot. Spray and wipe the HT lead behind the cover. Pull the HT cap off the spark plug and dowse it with WD40. Put it all back together and the bike should start OK.
I have to give mine a bit of throttle to get it to fire up quickly.
