I´ve got 10k on mine and it still does it until the oil has warmed up. It´ll surge too while squeezing the clutch lever while it´s in gear. I was told it´s because of the thicker oil I´m running in the summer and shouldn´t hurt it as long as I let it warm for a few minutes before taking off. What has hurt it is the short while pushing the starter button. Just blows the fuse and since I´m still under warranty so I hauled it to the shop where it´s been for the last month waiting in line to get checked.
