One of the things i noticed on my MT was the seemingly after thought of a hooter stuck on and out like a sore thumb. I have looked at several Yamaha official pictures and this is the intended position. I found that by reversing the two hole bracket the hooter can be set back over an inch and looks much more natural. No mods to the bracket are needed just be sure it does not touch the oil return pipe to avoid chaffing.
