Yes they are 175´s. You don´t see that displacement anymore. Big in the 70´s and 80´s, but AMA had 0-200 cc class and manufacturers bumped up to the max. I own many of these bikes and think they are some of the best ever made.
Not street legal in the US, but ones in the UK and AUS were factory legal. Mirrors, turn signals, etc. Sold in the US as competition only. I did get a 1980 125 legal back in the day. I have a 175 and a 490 that have street titles right now. Outfit yours with what ever is required where you live and see if you can get a title. I run a total loss system from a sealed gel cell battery in the tool bag. Only works the signals, horn and brake light so battery loss is minimal. Recharge every other week or so. Brake light is extra bulb wired in to taillight housing. Expect to be pulled over, but if everything is working, you will not get a ticket.Oh yeah, get a handle bar switch from a DT series to work the signals, etc. You can use this switch to replace the stock one and wire the headlight and tailight through it. Will have to put on a single button kill switch on the throttle side to stop engine.I even mounted a key switch on my 125. Good Luck!
