I would not lower it, it is a 600, so it is designed as a track handling bike. I to am not the tallest guy in the world, but I have gotten use to riding my offroad which is even higher, so finding the compromise on my road bike was not a prob,try to get your weight shifting correct when you come to a stop(i.e. hold the bike up with 1 leg on the ground if u can) you will get used to it. I can touch with both my feet on toes when I stop.
