Check the connecter on the cable that comes off the handle bars on the right side where the starter button is. It connects to the wiring harness behind the headlight Its not hard to find, it´s a large 6 pin connecter. Check the RED wire it supply´s power to the starter and the lights. Let me know if that´s it. I can give you some tips on changing the pins on connecters.
