if you have the tools and the time, its worth it to do yourself. however, i recommend that you get a service manual and look over the steps involved prior to trying it. get the HD manual it is the better one as it list what special tools that might be required. none are needed for the starter r&r. If special tools are needed it is usually cheaper to have a dealer do it than buy the tools.
