I have a Yamaha YBR125 which was subject to an attempted theft. The would-be thief attempted to hot wire the bike by cutting the wires beneath the ignition switch. I have replaced the ignition switch but not only does the starter not function, all sorts of other strange things occur such as indicators work only one side. Is it possible that attempted hot-wiring can have had an adverse effect on the electronic control card. My manual tells me that the card cannot be tested in any way and that substitution is the only recourse. I have checked the wiring. Any suggestions please.
