Does the Engine run? If so, check the dipstick on the tranny and if it shows that there´s fluid in it, put it in gear and see if the bike moves. If it does, then drain the tranny completely and clean it out thorougly using solvent and rags. Then after you rebuild the engine, fill it up with fresh fluid. It should last a good 50,000 miles as they are really tough and not much will break in them.
If the engine does not run, put it in gear and push the bike. If it rolls, then the tranny is Ok, so just repeat the cleaning steps above.
