Hi Renda,Yours is an old letter now,but thought ah well you may check this site.I live in Brisbane,Australia, and have owned 5 big bore Suzi´s,one being a 1000 GT engine no.110000.Unfortunately I don´t have frame no.I did 66,000km in two years back in 86/87 then stupidly sold it.I once got 20,000km from a Metzler Marathon on the rear,I must have been taking it easy Huh?I also fitted a Honda CX500 rectifier/regulator {Suzuki weak point } the extra 6th wire being an earth wire. You need both bike manuals to sort the other 5 wires out, being different in colour.Nowadays I guess you would get a good aftermarket one.I always run Castrol 4T (was Castrol Grandprix} in my old aircooled Suzi´s with no problems. Can´t beat that shaft drive. I have a small registry of eng. & fr.no´s here in Australia for GS1000´s .My last GS1000 was a red & white 1980 ST eng.no 152091 & frame.no 534795 and I know of two more in Queensland within 10-20 either side of this.Would you and any other GS1000 owners out there out there kindly email your Model, year, engine & frame numbers. This would be much appreciated. Will be interesting to see the range in no´s comparing Australian to American bikes. At present I have a range of 6000 in engine no´s for the 1980 GS1000 GT.I wonder how many of that model was sold in Australia.6000? Oh well, take care and happy riding.Regards Mark. |
