Got this tip from the dealer I bought mine from (Caswell Powersports):

When you park the bike at the gas station, be sure to put the kick stand down (not the center stand) and turn the wheel towards the kick stand. This will raise the gas tank opening slightly upward since it is on the opposite side of the bike. Hope this helps.
