I am a Rocket rider that lives and rides in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. I try to take at least one long trip a year, usually a couple of weeks for 3,000 to 3,500 miles. I love the twisties like Nova Scotia or US Route 129 (Tail of the Dragon)plenty at home too. I am considering a longer trip next summer NY to AZ (and back. That trip would be mostly on the highway until I get there then highway back. Riding on the center 2 1/2 inches of the tire for a highway trip like that will cook the Metzler 880 quick. Around my home roads I only get about 4,000 on the rear anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions for a MT that will offer more road surface contact, last longer and shed water? Does anyone have any experience with a CT that would be suitable for the Rocket on such a trip? |
