I´ve riden the rocket and funnily noticed the same problem. It sounds simple but to solve it, I just pulled the clutch in without letting off revs, then dethrottled to half throttle then changed gear then let the clutch back out a little slower than normal. The bite from it is a bit aggressive but the engine didn´t cut out.
