CPI SM 50 Problem..

HAd a few problems with the bike, been well maintained, each service time met and now on 4300 miles on the clock.

was riding the other day at an easy 34mph in traffic, the bike jerked slightly as if it was running out of fuel so i flciked the res tank on and got home.
later in the day went back out, took a trip to the petrol station first and experienced more jerks on the way, my first instinct was need some petrol quick, arrived there filled up and then started the engine...

now when i rev my bike it gets to 3700 - 5200 revs and keeps going from 2700 - 4000 and back again wont go any higher.. and wont start with electric start but will with kick start.

Does the spark plug need changing ? or could this be something worse..
when you do the electric start it tries too but when you put a little revs on at the same time you hear it choke a bit and try to start but no luck..


any help ?
