Leaking cooling liquid

I don`t know if anyone has had this problem yet, but the other day I came back to my bike after being out and I noticed liquid all over the floor under my CPI at first I thought it could be fuel, I checked the fuel tank and it was full so I drove off. I got half way home and the red cooling light had come on. I checked the water and as I thought it was all gone. After further inspection I found that the bottom hose leading from the radiator to the engine had been rubbing against the bottom black body panel cause it split. I took it to the garage and the mechanic said he will cut a small curve from the panel so it wont happen again. Has any one else had this problem if so does anyone know if CPI have sorted it out on the new models.
