Hello, I have done a belt change and roller check on my 200. I did the belt change at 12000 k´s, which is about 7500 miles. It wasn´t giving any trouble, but I did it as a precaution. The rollers were absolutely fine, all I did in the variator was clean all the dust out. My old ET4 125 had started to flat spot the rollers at about this mileage. There is a requirement for some means of locking the starter ring gear so you can undo the retaining nut. I made up a special tool that bolts to the transmission housing and engages with the ring gear, having seen a photograph of something similar in the Haynes manual for the ET4. More by luck than judgment, the tool that I made for the ET4 also fits the GT200. Whilst you´ve got the transmission apart, how about checking the centrifugal clutch shoes? Hope this helps, Jonjo |
