FJR 1300 Versus Tour Deluxe

I have a 2003 Yamaha FJR 1300 and am quite happy with its high powered sport touring features, but I thought I would try to slow myself down a bit, as I am now approaching 60, and my reaction time is not what it used to be. I thought of trying the Tour Deluxe, as it is slower, more comfortable over the long haul, and has a great warrantee. The guy at the dealership thinks I am nuts to give up all the advantages of the FJR, but I think that it is best to slow myself down before I push the bike beyond my capabilities. Any comments?
