GS build quality

I am looking at buying the new GS12 Adventure or this years standard GS12oo, a good friend has the GS1150 Adventure, and I feel when i compare the GS1150 with the current GS1200 that the build quality of the later bike is not as high as the former 1150. A better all round bike no doubt but is the quality dropping?
