| the nipples on the bottom are usually connected to little hoses that run down inbetweenthe swingarm and frame, they are overflow tubes. it sounds like your floats stuck. if the gas set up in there too long, they will tend to get stuck pretty easily. mikuni vm22ss carbs are what mine has, but i think im going to try and scrounge up some 35 flatslides and put some individual filters on each carb...and maybe put an oversized exhaust on it to open it up a bit. a stuck float will puke gas everywhere,..into your airbox, out of the overflow tubes...all over your engine and tranny. it sucks. rebuild em and keep em running with carb cleaner every few tanks.oh, and i had to make a rebuild kit too for those vm22ss carbs because the kaw place didnt have a kit listed. =( lots of time with an exacto and wax paper gaskets. oh and good luck finding any parts for the D1a. its not easy. |
