Bad map sensor?

Have 2001 carbureted twin cam. Idles well and runs well at high RPM´s..above 3000. At mid range, backfires and misses. Have replaced intake boots and carburetor, ignition module...no luck so far. Could it be the MAP sensor? Ideas welcome.
