I just traded a Buell for an 05 KLR, the fellow that owned it prior was vertically "challenged" and decided to shave the seat foam in order to lower the bike. It ruined the comfort completely. I had to buy a new seat before I could do any riding at all. If you havenĀ“t already, spend the money and buy the proper lowering kit offered. You can then slide the forks a little in the triple clamps to lower the front. I understand it requires a new side stand (also available) unless you know a good welder.
