I´m not all that familiar with the FJR, but I am now on my second Concourse purchase, the first an ´86 and now a 2000. To me the concourse offers the perfect combination of speed, handling, and practicality. You get a bit of crotch rocket performance without killing your back on a long ride. You get handling that outdoes nearly any full fairing and saddlebagged bike out their (a tip of my hat to the ST which is nearly 1.5 times the price). The saddlebags are roomy enough for business and leisure commuting or a short weekend. Add a tank bag and a trunk and you can leave for weeks. My first long trip in 1986 on a concourse was with the factory bags and a tank bag. I logged 4,000 miles and was gone for two months. So, if you want pure rocket don´t buy it. If you want pure tourer, don´t buy it. If you want a great combo of both without breaking the bank....get one today. |
