I´ll show my age here, but I bought a brand new Concours in 1986, the first year they came out. In the course of about 7 months I had put over 10,000 miles on it without missing a beat, and more importantly, enjoying every minute. I then entered the military and had not enough money or time to ride so I sold it. I´ve looked for the last eight years for a used one in my area and finally found one today. A 2000 with 12,000 miles on it, original owner, always garaged and serviced. The changes from ´86 to 2000 are minor and from what I can tell so far, improvements. Mechanically there is still the same proven Kawi 4 that has been a winner for about 35 years now. As my grandma said, if you make good biscuits, don´t change the recipe. Now all I have to worry about is where I´ll sleep once my wife gets home and finds out I bought it!! |
