Vulcan 500 Engine Guards

Has anyone found a solution to the engine guard problem yet? I have only been riding for 9 months on a 250, but have floored it twice, both in 1st gear in car parks so no real damage! But the guards protected everything! I want to go up to the V500 but definitely need guards that will protect the engine and controls.
