Oil Light and Loss

Oil Light and Loss

I have 32000 miles on my Nomad. I changed the oil and filter this past weekend, and only got one and a half quarts of oil out of the engine. When I did the last service I got a little over three out, and put a little over three back in. I have no idea why I lost half my oil since my last oil change. There are no leaks, and no smoke. Also since changing my oil, my oil level indicator light keeps coming on. There is plenty of oil in the bike, and it does not come on all the time. Help Please, I have no idea what is happening and why. I love my bike, and do not want to get rid of it, but can not keep having these issues.
