I currently own a 05´ springer classic. It handles like a dream, corners like its on rails. Remember that when riding a bike (say like in a race,etc) or even having fun riding thru moutain switchback roads. Its the rider, not the bike. The rider, and his skill level determines how well the bike performs. I sometimes feel like riding so aggressive that I have to take off my enging guards before I head out. I corner my springer hard, without any problems at all. I corner so hard that I drag footboards and engine guards quite a bit. LOL. Happy riding. Get the skills, take your time in doing so, then push that bike till adrenaline flows. When you reach the point to where adrenaline starts to flow and you rheart rate starts to pound, then and only then have you reached your riding potential. Your potential will increase with time. Dont ever let anyone tell you that harley springer dont handle as well as other bikes in the softail class. You just need to know and learn how to control the bike. Be in control, dont let the bike conrol you. If you feel that the bike is in control, slow down and get back in the saddle. Saw your quote about old dawgs and advise. thats an excellent point. You know why. You dont go to a poor man to find out how to invest and make money. the same applies here. Most old timers still riding have at least some experience on a springer. The only springer I do no like is choppers. I dont like any bike that has a rake greater than 30-35 degrees. The longer the bike the poorer the handling, especially in turns and winding roads. Why do you think most sport bikes are short and raked at 24 degrees or less. Take care, Dr. Warren Wilkinson
