After not riding for more than twenty years, I picked up a 2005 883 XL. Picked the base model because the under-1000cc rating made my insurance more doable and it allowed me to customize it the way I wanted and still stay within budget. After changing out the pipes, air cleaner and rejetting the carb, it runs like a dream. It´s heaavy enough to be comfortable and still light enough to be very tossable in the twisties. And, it´s a Harley, which brings you into a terrific family of riders. New rider or old, this is one to seriously consider.
