Hey Andrew sorry to hear about your bad experience with the guage, I hope you enjoy your bike and don´t let the lack of a fuel guage make you disapointed in such a great bike. The gas tank was originaly designed with a digital guage, and by my understanding the designers and the engineers and the press guys did´t get all of their ducks in a row and OOPS no gas guage. Keeping this in mind they did make an awesome guage that has two trip meters, I find that at aproximatly 47 miles to 50 miles I have used one gallon, then at about 150 miles I have used about 3 gallons, at the 150 mile mark or sometimes at about 130 miles a light that indicates the reserve turns on and I know I will be needing gas soon. The gas tank holds about 4 gallons, this gives you the aproximate range of 188 to 200 miles before you need to start pushing. I hope this helps you out.
