I think beth is talking about a fuel censor. But sounds like your carb needs to be rejetted. Or check if you are takeing in to much air. And sometimes you can have a leak in your exhaulst, or it comes loose. Let it kool off and crank it and put your hand around the exhaulst to see if its leaking. Take some WD40 and spray it around the intake (not in it) and if it idles down or cuts off then theres a leak in the intake. Go to phatperformaceparts.com. They can tell you how to rejet the carb. its easy.
