yes this is true.i own 2 79 kz s an early model and the mach 2 both 79 s yes they are cold blooded, i installed a temp gauge from a truck just placed the sensor on top of the motor between 2 cylinder fins its pretty accurate tooonce you get on the freeway it drops down to about 120 degrees. i really like it because you can tell when its warmed up.
