Hello everyone, the name is Glenn,I am a journyman welder and mechanic, been riding and fixing bikes for 37 years. In 2004 I bought a KTM 200sx,realy fun bike to ride, put a procircuit pipe,v-force reeds, and a power now intake on the bike.About a year and a half ago I was at my local track, heading up to the finish line jump,in 5th gear wide open when the sprocket bolts sheared off, the chain jammed between the front sprocket and the swingarm,it stopped the engine intantly, breaking tranny gears and cracking the engine cases by the front sprocket.Needless to say it was quite costly to repair. When I rebuilt it,I replaced the crank bearings and seals when I had it apart. When I put it back together I noticed that I could move the crank up and down and sideways too, just like worn bearings would do.The local Ktm dealer said it was normal because the one bearing was a roller bearing(ignition side). So I took the bike for a ride and it seized up the piston and destroyed the crank bearings. So I took it apart again, had the cylinder recromed, new bearings and seals, piston and a new crank. So now I have a completly new motor and I still have slop in the crank bearings. The bike runs alright but I´m leary to ride the thing,I´m scared it´s going to blow up again.Has anybody else had this problem with these ktm rollerbearings or know a fix for them?
