I too liked the tmax with the double cylinder 500 cc engine...would expect lower rpms and more torque which should ease the motor´s life over it´s life. The majesty is a bit better looking but I would have bought the tmax. I am going to change the oil myself and bought two filters and rings yesterday at the local Yamaha dealer in Colonial Heights. There are Suzuki oil filters that exactly match as well according to the dealer. One of my two is one of them but I don´t have the codes. The filters are really small and with 2500 miles on the bike, I´m due to change at 3000. My brother in law rides a Honda Spirit 750 road bike and his advice is to also keep the battery charged in the winter via a Battery Tender unit...small, .75 or 1.25 amp charge multistage chargers. I bought the small one yesterday and it has a permanent pigtail with plug in. I may use it or I may just put it on the center stand with the parking brake on and run it weekly during the winter in the garage to keep the small battery charged up. It is kind of a pain to get to so that may be what I actually do but I do have the Battery Tender Junior (.75 amp) in case. I read the manual and it says that you need to unhook the negative or ground lead when you do this as well which may make the running it weekly a better idea. I haven´t changed the air filters yet but that is something I can easily do as well. The rest will be the dealer at $75 an hour as it´s too easy to screw a bike up and they have the tools and stands especially where tires, brakes, cogged belt at 12,500, etc. are concerned. I´m overall pleased with the bike and it has a groove about 62 mph to 65 that is perfect. The taller Givi windscreen might help that but not enough to bother with for me given my use patterns where 65-55 is about where I ride the bike. |
