I also park in a garage at night, but the daytime is another story sometimes. A Disk Lock will allow some vandal or thief to wreck your braking caliper system. A chain is just another carry handle, but at the rear it has a good effect. The Alarm chain or Alarmed Disk locks if painted in a neon red will get the thieves rolling on to another bike down the road...
Putting a bunch of locks at every stop, can be a hassle and one day ( unless your system is religious) you will forget and wreck your own brakes....
Thieves are not that lazy, since they are usually on crack or some garbage, and they always need a kilo of stuff to get rolling...
